How to generate a system report

Created by Liz Paglione, Modified on Mon, 1 Dec at 5:03 PM by Liz Paglione

A system report provides detailed information about your operating system environment, and can be a helpful tool for helping Rational Acoustics support troubleshoot crashes and other difficult to diagnose errors. While this report does not contain any personally data such as documents, please note that it does contain your computers name, the logged in user name, and a list of installed applications.

If requested by a Rational Acoustics Support Specialist, follow these steps to generate a report and attach it to your ticket.

macOS Directions

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings

2. Click General in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

3. Click About, then click System Report.

4. Click File > Show More Information

5. Choose File > Save, then enter a name and choose a location for the report

6. Find the file and attach it to your support ticket
