(Windows) Smaart can send audio but is not receiving any input signal
For permission issues regarding macOS devices, please check out this article.
In some instances when opening Smaart for the first time, you will be asked if Smaart is allowed access to the "Microphone". This is often confused with Smaart trying to access the built-in microphone when in reality Smaart is asking permission to access all audio input streams.
If "No" was selected at this prompt, Smaart will recognize the audio interface and can play pink noise to it but receives no input signal from any source. Thankfully, the setting is easy to enable if you ever run into this issue:
Windows 10
Open Windows settings and go to Privacy > Microphone. Ensure that microphone access is not completely disabled, then scroll down to and enable "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone"
Windows 11
Open Windows settings and go to Privacy & Security > Microphone. Ensure that microphone access is not completely disabled, then scroll down to and enable "Let desktop apps access your microphone"
Smaart will need to be restarted before the changes will take affect. Please contact us if issues persist.
