What is Smaart?

Rational Acoustics Smaart® is a dual-channel, FFT-based acoustical analysis software platform that runs on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. It provides real-time spectrum analysis of audio signals (RTA, Spectrograph), dual-channel transfer function analysis of sound system response (Magnitude, Phase, Coherence) and acoustical impulse response measurement and analysis capability (Live IR transfer function views, or full IR Mode for more advanced reverberation or speech intelligibility metrics). Smaart enables you to measure and analyze the frequency content of audio signals, study the timing and frequency response of electro-acoustic systems, and perform room acoustics analysis. Smaart also contains Sound Pressure Level (SPL) functionality for monitoring, logging, and logging of varying depth depending on which of the Smaart v9 editions you are using.

Smaart is designed to be accessible to a wide cross-section of audio engineers and technicians, offering the flexibility and scalability needed to meet the requirements for nearly any field measurement and analysis application while maintaining a level of intuitive usability that everyone from novice users to the busiest seasoned professionals can appreciate. Being entirely software-based, Smaart is hardware independent and can process data from nearly any audio source that can stream data to a computer, from off the shelf home audio recording interfaces, to professional multi-channel recording solutions, digital mixing consoles, or networked digital audio systems.

What is Smaart RTA (for iOS)?

Smaart RTA is a single-channel version of Smaart that runs on mobile devices (at the time of writing, iOS only - iPhone and iPad). Smaart RTA offers Smaart's Real Time Analyzer (RTA), Spectrograph, and a single SPL Meter, without needing to set up a dedicated computer running a desktop version of Smaart.

More information on Smaart RTA is available here.
